The New Breed of Practical Privacy: an Evolution
Must privacy necessarily be sacrificed in the pursuit of greater security and efficiency? The author argues that the threats to privacy today are best met by common, practical measures that offer demonstrable benefits, such as: adopting global privacy standards; building privacy into information technologies and systems, and; empowering data subjects to make better informed decisions through the use of short meaningful notices. The author illustrates her argument with examples of recent work from her office.
