* The doping case of the German speed skater Claudia Pechstein, winner of multiple Olympic and World Championship titles, which originates from a decision of the International Skating Union (ISU), has received unprecedented media attention, in particular in the German-speaking press. The purpose of the present contribution is to set out the main stages of this procedural saga for non-German-speaking readers and to point to some elements of interest, in particular with respect to the Swiss Supreme Court’s unprecedented decision to grant ex parte preliminary relief allowing Claudia Pechstein to participate in a qualifying race for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
