The «Expedited Procedure» set out at Article 42 of the new Swiss Rules of International Arbitration of the Swiss Chambers of Commerce aims at providing users of international arbitration with a speedy and cost-efficient means of resolving disputes. This article, which appears in the ASA Special Series N° 21, explains the rationale and details of the «Expedited Procedure». It also seeks to anticipate certain legal issues that may arise in practice and to suggest possible solutions.
